Balmorhea (bal-moor-ay), Ume (oo-may) and Sunset (sun-set) Live at The Parish!

This Friday, August 14, three of Austin’s favorite experimental groups will be performing at The Parish! Through their incredible musicianship and originality, the members of Balmorhea, Ume, and Sunset have each earned themselves the notable respect paid by all listeners. The show this weekend is going to be awesome – and I can’t think of a better place to hear the ambient tunes of Balmorhea.
With influences ranging from Cage to Debussy to Gillian Welch, Balmorhea produces nothing short of a masterpiece. Musicians Rob Lowe and Michael Muller direct their strong backgrounds in classical music into unchartered experimental territory to reach beautiful, musical simplicity. And it’s even better live.
The doors at The Parish will open at 9pm, and the show starts at 9:30. Do512 is giving away some free tickets to this one! In order to qualify, simply click “I Like It!” on the event at Do512.com. Tickets are also available through frontgatetickets.com.

Balmorhea is misspelled twice in two different ways above. Who edits this stuff?
