JUST IN!!! THE FULL SXSW BAND LIST HAS JUST BEEN ANNOUNCED AND CAN BE FOUND ON AUSTIN360.COM

SXSW 2008 is right around the corner, taking place this year from March 7th-16th. SXSW Interactive will take place March 7-11, SXSW Film is 7-15, and the music festival and conference will be the 12th through 16th. The full lineup for the event will be announced in the coming weeks, but there is no shortage of SXSW news and rumors out there, including a partial list of some of the bands that will be participating. Big names like R.E.M. have already confirmed, and you can expect to see some of Austin’s best local acts alongside some of the hottest under-the-radar acts from around the world. This year’s keynote speaker will be Lou Reed, who made his mark on the world of music in the late 60’s while fronting the highly influential band The Velvet Underground.
