New Belgium’s Tour de Fat – Good ‘ol Free Fun

Who would have thought a beer brewery would be such do-gooders? Tour de Fat is an 11 city tour promoting the use of bike’s over stinky, bad-for-the-environment cars. If you have never been to Tour de Fat before I would highly recommend it. Held at Fiesta Gardens, the festival is full of costumes, decorated bikes, music, and of course, tasy beer. All of this partying is also for a good cause, Tour de Fat raises money for local charities that focus on reducing you and I’s waste stream. This year the chosen Austin non-profits are Yellow Bike Project, Austin Cycling Association, and Austin Ridge Riders. Admission to the festivities is free and all proceeds from beer sales go to the non-profits. This party is also family friendly and is a great non-Halloween opportunity to have a dress up party with the kids.

Even though the event is free, show some love on Do512!
