The Decemberists to debut album live at SXSW

Prolific Portland indie rock band The Decemberists have announced that they will kick off the opening night of the SXSW music festival, headlining NPR’s SXSW showcase at Stubb’s, where they will perform all 17 songs from their new rock opera, “The Hazards of Love,” in sequence, how the band intends for the record to be heard.

This will be the first time the album has been performed live, and the quintet will be joined on stage by Lavendar Diamond’s Becky Stark and My Brightest Diamond’s Shara Worden, who sing guest vocals on the album. This spectacular debut will not only be a treat for SXSW attendees, the concert will be streamed live, podcast and archived by NPR Music.

This music is so distinctive, so unique, that you have to just listen and enjoy it. I have all the Decemberists’ CDs and they are all good. Is this one the best? Just list again and decide for yourself
