David Allan Coe, Paula Nelson Band, Pimpadelic & Honky @ Emo’s (outside)
On Friday, June 12, Emo’s will be hosting a special event during the 15th annual R.O.T. Biker Rally, featuring David Allan Coe. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts just an hour later. Tickets cost $17 in advance and $20 at the door, but if you want free tickets, raise that thumb toward Do512! (5 pairs available).
Recording music since 1956, David Allan Coe will be sure to perform that good ‘ole outlaw country he is notorious for. With 285+ songs in his arsenal, the famous Mr. Coe seems to be the perfect fit for the Republic of Texas Biker Rally. Also lighting up the outside stage at Emo’s Friday night is the Paula Nelson Band (yes, Willie Nelson’s daughter). Paula recently released her third studio album, Lucky 13, featuring big Willie himself, Luke Nelson, and the Tosca String Quartet. The Paula Nelson Band’s southern rock-esque style should delightfully surprise those unfamiliar with the band. The third act of the night, Pimpadelic, will help cure that Southern Rock itch that has been prevalent since Lynyrd Skynyrd’s last live show. With song titles such as “Poor White Trash” and “Piano Heroin,” Pimpadelic looks to bolster their grassroots campaign with a flooring performance Friday night. But that’s not it! Honky, three southern rock gentleman, will also be performing at Emo’s. Their latest album is dubbed “Balls Out Inn.” Hmm…a Biker Rally with Honky going Balls Out, 3 southern rockers with a pimp flare, Willie Nelson’s beautiful blonde daughter, and the notoriously famous (or infamous?) David Allan Coe…that sounds just about right. So we’ll see you, Harley and all, at Emo’s on Red River on Friday night!
