The Backyard at Bee Cave: Design Scholarship Program
Architecture and landscaping architecture majors should be aware: the University of Texas School of Architecture released the Planet Earth Music Design 2009 on June 15. Sponsored by The Backyard at Bee Cave, the competition’s objective is to pick a winning design for a new Backyard venue that is both structurally impressive and eco-friendly. A judging panel of experts in the fields of concert production, architecture, and local musicians will evaluate each of the design entries. With the objective being to create “the greenest music venue in the world,” the new Backyard at Bee Cave plans to have reserved parking spots for carpoolers and hybrid vehicles and a 7500 person capacity. The Backyard will have a full 35 acres to work with, therefore allowing for full on-site parking. Don’t wait around too long, though, architects: student team and media site visits are scheduled to be conducted June 27. Contact Marquette Armond at firstname.lastname@example.org or call (512) 406-3404 for more information on this exciting scholarship opportunity.
