Elvis Costello at Bass Concert Hall 9/1

Elvis Costello celebrates the release of his new album “Secret, Profane & Sugarcane” on September 1st with a live performance at Bass Concert Hall. This new release is the legendary artist’s highest charting album in nearly 30 years, for which Costello enlisted an acoustic dream team and Grammy award winner T-Bone Burnett (O Brother, Where Art Thou?.)

The Sugarcanes provide instrumentation in the form of dobro, fiddle, and mandolin, comprised of Jim Lauderdale, who previously won Artist of the Year and Song of the year at the Americana Music Awards, and Stuart Duncan, a two-time Grammy Award Winner and in demand session player.

Live, the band mixes a new batch of songs from “Secret, Profane & Sugarcane” with reworkings of Costello classics. Tickets for the Bass Concert Hall performance are on sale now at www.utpac.org, and Do512 is giving you a chance to win one of 2 pairs of free tickets simply by clicking “I Like It!” on the event listing.

Holy Smokes! this is going to be quite the show. This new album is is full of traditional feel with classic Costello twang and keeps me humming between the songs “complicated Shadows” and the pretty ballad “I felt the chill”. Have yet to experience Costello live as well as the Bass Concert Hall. Seems like this would be a great opportunity to do both.
