HAAM Benefit Day! Don’t Miss It!!
First things first, do you know about HAAM? The Health Alliance for Austin Musicians (or HAAM) works to keep our city up and running. HAAM provides low-cost primary health care servies, basic dental care and mental health counseling for the uninsured, professional local musician. Ultimately, as the Live Music Capital of the World, Austin’s economic stability and success are reliant on organizations like HAAM. The HAAM Benefit Day is a chance for you and me to support both local music and a great cause!
On Tuesday, September 22nd, local artists will play all over the city in support of the Health Alliance for Austin Musicians. For the early birds, Kevin Welch kicks off the day at the Whole Foods Cafe with KGSR at 6am! From then until well past midnight, local businesses will host live performances of locals, as well as donate 5% of the day’s proceeds to support the health of musicians through HAAM. Venue locations include hotspots like Waterloo Records, Birds Barbershop, Romeo’s and tons more. Even local celebrities such as Bob Schneider, Seth Walker, and Band of Heathens will be playing around town – don’t miss out!!
