Texas NORML’s 4th Annual 6th Street Smoke-Out!
Texas NORML, the state chapter of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws, has the mission to “educate the public at large regarding cannabis law in Texas, so as to sway the popular opinion in favor of responsible change.” Basically, NORML works to spread awareness of the arguments supporting marijuana decriminalization through weekly open meetings, activist training sessions, and kick-ass events such as the Austin Reggae Fest, Bob Marley Birthday Celebration, and the Annual Sixth Street Smoke-Out!
At Momo’s this Saturday, October 17, you can show your civic pride in more ways than one at the 4th Annual Sixth Street Smoke-Out! This year, locally based Texas NORML has decided to create a truly Austin event with live performances by five quintessential local bands, vendor booths from local head shops and artists, food provided by Mellow Mushroom (yumm!), and a multimedia light show produced by Charles Beard. The featured musicians of the evening are Flounders Without Eyes, Dertybird, Champagne with Friends, Graham Wilkinson & The Underground Township, and Dubkids. How could you possibly even consider missing this event?!
Do512 is giving away some FREE TICKETS for this one! In order to qualify for a chance to win, just click “I Like It!” on the event listing on Do512. The cover charge for the big night is $10 for non-NORML members (if you are a member, it’s $5). All the money raised will be used to benefit the Texas NORML cause. See you there!
