Halloween Weekend at THE PARISH

IT’S FINALLY HERE!!!! As we sit on the verge of what could arguably be called the most extreme party weekend of the year, the myriad of Halloween extravaganzas are beginning to pop up all around Austin, no doubt confusing everyone with enticing promises of serving up some pure insanity and fanatical fun. Planning out the weekend can be difficult with so many options, but (even though I can’t vouch for all of these parties of promised fun) I can guarantee that the Parish will completely deliver on its message, ensuring that everyone goes out, stays out, and parties like there’s no tomorrow.

If you are one of the more unfortunate ones who missed out on Widespread Panic’s sold out shows this Friday and Saturday, FEAR NOT. HCB Productions and Score More Entertainment are throwing down a POST Widespread Panic show this Friday at the Parish featuring big synth remixers Megasoid and Taiwanese powerhouse Mochipet. (Present your Widespread ticket stub for a discounted price!!!) With a worldwide released record, David Wang–a.k.a. Mochipet, the DJ/producer/label head of Daly City Records–delivers a masterful hybrid of hip-hop, electro, and pure experimentalism that will assemble the crowds. And with the duo that is Megasoid, you can expect: 1) a group who’s no stranger to the spotlight and A-list producers/DJs (including Ed Banger, Glitch Mob, Holy Fuck, Daedelus, Thunderheist, and the Cool Kids, to name a few), 2) hip-hop influenced, dirty street-bass remixes that will make you dance your ass off, and 3) such a good damn time that you will want to stay out all night… which YOU CAN! Doors open at 10:00 PM and the party lasts till 2:30 AM, which I’m pretty sure is an extra hour of partying that you can’t get anywhere else on 6th street. But that’s not even half of it…

Sleep tight after dancing the night away on Friday, and get ready to boot and rally for ROUND TWO at the Parish on Saturday night!! HCB Productions is throwing ANOTHER bad ass party on Halloween night with more musical sensations: Ana Sia, Starkey, and Emancipator. From San Francisco native, Ana Sia, be prepared for a show that “unite[s] the best elements of dirty dubstep, grimy glitch, and her personalized blend of “global slut psy-hop,”… confirm[ing] the crunk status of all who dare enter into her seamless world of sound.” Also at your disposal are the breakcore, grime, and street bass stylings of Starkey (a man who happens to be the 2005 Mid-Atlantic and North American Laptop Battle Champion…who knew?!) and the intricate artful beats of Emancipator, which have earned him immense success and his first ever North American tour. Doors open at 11, and again the party lasts until the wee hours of the morning, rounding off at  3:00 am.

Remember, guys… this is HALLOWEEN WEEKEND. So although costumes aren’t required… shame on you if you aren’t planning on dressing up like something crazy BOTH nights.
