Eagle Pritchard Murray Band CD Release w/ Sahara Smith
With March just around the corner (it’s NEXT WEEK, folks), it’s about time to start planning out your pre-SXSW schedule (which I promise will be 10x easier than planning out your actual SXSW schedule), and we are here to help you do just that. Next Thursday, March 4, the Eagle Pritchard Murray Band is celebrating the release of their debut album, Welcome to the St. Elmotel, at Lamberts alongside songstress Sahara Smith and other special guests.
The Eagle Pritchard Murray Band is composed of three young musicians: Jason “Eagle” Kloess, James “Pritchard” Mason, and Dylan “Murray” Trakas, who banded together back in the spring of 2008 and quickly made a name for themselves across Austin and Central Texas (even placing in the top 10 of Austin Chronicle’s Battle of the Bands last year). This trio of recent college grads creates a unique sound of Southern roots rock with a hint of soul, which they hail as a “refreshing blend, dangerously capable of moving both your feet and your mind”. They have listed influences ranging from Dave Matthews, Damien Rice, and Van Morrison to Counting Crows, Jason Mraz, and Guster, and after playing around Austin in venues like the Lucky Lounge, Red Fez, One-2-One Bar, and the Firehouse Lounge, the band comes to us next week at Lamberts with the release of their debut album. Recorded right here in Austin (with producers Jason Buntz and Whitaker Elledge), Welcome to the St. Elmotel hits shelves next week on March 2nd. And as a band who helps to support a number of local Austin charities (Lance Armstrong Foundation, Texas Impact, Boys & Girls Club of the Capital Area, and the Lupus Foundation), they are graciously donating 10% of the proceeds from every album sold to the Lance Armstrong Foundation and their fight against cancer.
The doors will open at 9:30 pm next Thursday, and the whole show starts around 10:30. Tickets are just $5 but head over to the Do512 page and RSVP for a chance to win one of two $25 bar tabs and one of three pairs of FREE TICKETS. Come support the Eagle Pritchard Murray Band, listen to their great tunes, and BUY THEIR CD!!! See you there!
